S6 Diabetic complications 1 :
Evolving epidemiology of diabetic complications  LIVE Channel B
09:00~11:00 / Friday 8 October
Chairman:Dongsun Kim, Bong-Soo Cha
Overview
The landscape of epidemiology regarding diabetic complications is rapidly evolving. After the introduction of game-changers such as SGLT2 inhibitors or GLP-1 agonists, fatal outcomes of cardiovascular disease are improving. However, the risk of neurodegenerative diseases including dementia is still threatening the quality of life in patients with diabetes. Some people with diabetes have increased susceptibility to complications based on their genetic make-up. In addition to this, epigenetics is improving to explain metabolic memory of diabetic complications. Last but not least, deep learning and artificial intelligence shed light on the game-changing diagnosis and prediction of diabetic complications. This session will be covering all these hot issues by inviting the most experienced experts in this field.
